Latest reviews of Anna's Ice-Cream Shop HD app for iPhone and iPad

Great frame, just needs the flesh
As an addendum, I would like to add that a lot of the other reviews seem padded to me. Just read them for yourself. I had honestly rated this a 3 previously, now I dropped it due to the fishy positive 5 star reviews. The game is OK, not great, theres no real challenge. Read on. . . Visually and mechanics are top-notch. The problem is that there needs to be fleshed out just a bit to make this a big seller and more fun. First, theres no time limit, you keep serving customers until you reach the required limit. This just isnt adrenaline inducing. What I do like is the maximum that needs reached. I feel that if you have a ticking clock then that is going to give it that edge. Another thing I would like to see would be some upgrades- a plate to set aside a pre-made treat, buy a few extra seconds to prep in later levels, faster machines, etc. The other thing thats lacking is a penalty other than losing cash. If you lose cash early on then what does it matter? You just make it up with the next customer. You can essentially have a single endless level. This is a trend I really hate amongst games in this medium, when I play I want to be playing for something, against something. I want that sense of accomplishment and even of failure. Failure makes the accomplishment that much more savory. Overall, not a bad concept or visually bad, just needs some tweaking. I think others will agree that it will make the difference between this being a game that gets lost to the competition and one that gives the competition a run for their money. For now, Id say pass. If these things are implemented Id say "buy, buy, buy".
WAY boring...
This game is way too easy. The days are really long and boring. I bought it hoping to get a fun, challenging serving game with yummy looking food, and this was a total let down. I want my $0.99 back. The ice cream doesnt even look good!
